Restaurants and International Cuisine in Singapore
Regarded by many as the food capital of the world, almost every major international cuisine can be found in Singapore. With hundreds of restaurants dotted around the island, you will never have to look very far for that wood-fired pizza or Japanese sashimi. There are far too many restaurants to list them all here, but here are a few suggestions to get you going. The Moomba (Upper Circular Road) serves great Australian-inspired food with style. Brewerkz (Riverside Point) serves delicious American-style food (in American-sized portions) and brews its own beer, and you can also find a great selection of burgers at China Jump (Chijmes) and Blooies (Siglap). Thai Express (Holland Village / The Esplanade) is a new Thai food chain serving great, cheap Thai food. Mexican food can be found at Cafï¿½ Iguana (Riverside Point) and Cha Cha Cha and El Patio (Holland Village). Spanish tapas-style food is available at Ocho (Chijmes) and Que Pasa (Emerald Hill). For Italian try Michelangelos and Sistina (Holland Village) or La Smorfia (Purvis Street). Japanese conveyor-belt sushi can be found all over the island but if you're looking for something a bit more relaxed try En (Mohamed Sultan). L'ecole Gourmande (Far East Square) serves French food in an idyllic setting. Far East Square also caters for those looking for Vietnamese, African, Italian, Islamic and local food. It's easy to find what you want if you take a walk around the main entertainment hubs (Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, Chijmes, Holland Village, East Coast), however, you may find that the best eateries are often well-kept secrets, so it can pay to ask a local or an expat.
