Sydney's Attractions
For the millions of visitors that descend upon it each year, Sydney embodies everything good about Australia: a vibrant arts scene, great nightlife, a cosmopolitan population (and with that, a huge variety of cuisine!), and an endless list of things to do. Within a few hours' drive from the city, there's the fresh air of the Blue Mountains, the fun of the Snowy Mountains and the vineyards of Hunter Valley. And of course, Australians are one of the friendliest and most hospitable people around. No visit to Sydney would be complete without a trip to Kings Cross, especially after dark. In the day, enjoy the tree-lined streets, shady parks, colonial architecture and dozens of European-style cafes. At night, be prepared for the bright lights and a night scene that doesn't seem to end.
Because of its excellent location, you will find dozens of attractions within walking distance. Kings Cross, the Rocks, the Harbour, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, beaches and shopping centres can all be found within a kilometre or two of The Crescent. Check out Hard Rock Cafe on Crown Street for food and live performances, dance the night away at The Palladium on Roslyn Street, or indulge in some art at the Stables Theatre on Nimrod Street. For sporting enthusiasts, nearby are the Sydney Football Stadium, White City Tennis Centre, Royal Randwick Race Course, Sydney Cricket Ground, Moore Park Golf Course and Sydney Cruising Yacht Club.
