• The Traffic Police--which is responsible for maintaining road order and safety.
• The Criminal Investigation Department (CID)--which investigates serious crimes including murder, firearm robberies, secret societies, illegal gambling, money laundering and counterfeit currency activities.
• The Police Coast Guard--which patrols Singapore's territorial waters and protects its maritime activities. 

Emergency services

   Fire-fighting, rescue and ambulance services are under the charge of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The SCDF has also expanded its services to include extrication of accident victims trapped in vehicles, and handling of incidents involving hazardous substances. It has a Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), 4 civil defence divisions and 12 fire stations under its wing. Its other role is to increase public awareness of and participation in civil defence activities, including public shelter and public warning system exercises.
