I've promised to take my daughter to tea tomorrow and can't find the old posts on this. (I know, I know, the same thing happened to me when I took her to tea last time.)  I would appreciate recommendations on a nice afternoon tea place (or even a point to the post I'm looking for---tried typing in "afternoon tea" in the serach engine, but had no success.  typing in "tea" fave me a nice insight to teaching in Singapore!).  I tried the buffet tea at Raffles and the tea at the Regent.  I didn't like either.  I'd really appreciate your help.

My favourite place is just off the lobby area at the "Regent Hotel". Very English... lots of lovely sandwiches, petit fours, variety of cakes, scones, tea-breads etc. Lashings of tea (Earl Grey, Darjeeling etc.) or coffee. And a pianist too. They start early too - about 1.30pm until about 5.30pm or 6.00pm. Nice and leisurely. If you're driving there, give them your parking coupon and they will annotate it for complimentary parking. Enjoy!

(I know what you mean about the other places - I found Raffles very disappointing, and the Shangri-La and Goodwood Park don't cut it either. But do try the Regent, I'm sure you'll like it).

We gave the Fullerton a try.  Excellent.  Nice, fresh sandwishes, yummy little desserts and nice scones.  Ambience peaceful.  It's from 2:30-5:00 (or 5:30)pm  Wonderful area to walk around afterwards, too (Cavanaugh Bridge, the Civic Venter area out towrds the Padang).
