Have you seen Grosse Pointe Blank?  Like The Wedding Singer, it is filled with music from the '80's (also funny in a macabre sort of way).  About 6 years ago, when something from teh '80's came on the radio, a college friend cranked it up, loudly exclaiming that, "This is the music from our era!"  I was stunned, she was implying that OUR era had PASSED!  Of course music FROM the '80's is great---so great I never realized that anything else had come along.  Well, except for C&W (country and western) music from the early '90's.
