Not sure if I should be posting here or in the Travel section, but I need to find free things to do, to entertain a couple of 16 year old boys.

I know they're not quite "Juniors" and some of you will have some very "interesting" suggestions   but they're not very worldly-wise, not at all used to city life.

Was shocked to find that the museums here are not free.  Our budget is virtually non-existent.

Thanks for any sensible suggestions.

in Jurong there's a public swimming pool with water slides.  It's VERY cheap, a couple of dollars per kid.  Not sure of the exact location, but maybe ask around or look up in phone book.

A hike up Bukit Timah hill is free.  Bring water bottles as it gets hot & dusty.  There are things to do (fitness stuff?)along the way.

East coast parkway has bike paths - see if you can borrow some bikes.

Then there's always people watching along Orchard Road.

Thanks "I Think" - we're going to start with the people-watching anyway!

A trip to the Tourism Court and a bagful of their leaflets has proved very useful.

If they are interested at all in history, then Changi museum and Chapel is free and worth a visit.

It only costs $2 per person to head over to Palau Ubin for the day - nice walking or you can hire mountain bikes for the day at about $8 each.

Have fun!

Also, check around with the museums.
I believe at least some have free admissions
one day per month. Sorry I don't have
solid info but I believe the Chinese
Heritage museum (or some Chinese meseum)
is free on one Wednesday per month.

Also check out your neighborhood
community center. I have noticed that
they always have some events going on
which is free. I can't comment on how good
they are but it's worth a try.

Good luck

Cindy
