Just been to Toys R Us and bought the box, BUT it needs an adapter that goes from the box to the socket in the wall... apparently Toys R Us are not selling it here, and he adviced me to go to Courts.... so I went to Courts and they adviced me to go to a computer store... so I wen to the computer store (this was in Suntec) just to discover that the shop had closed down. Hurray.... so exhausted I went home.

Anyone got a good idea where I can get my hands on this or any universal adapter that will fit into the machine?? Funan IT? Sim Lim??

Ohhh....dear me...I am planning to buy that one for my daughter's 6th bday. I checked it out last Saturday, cost around $159. That's a bit annoying that Toy R Us selling them but they cannot even 'provide' some of that parts of the product they are selling. That's a bit strange. What sort of adapter, is it?

annoying indeed... Well as far as I figured out from the internet, the official adapter cost 9.99 pounds or 14 euro but cannot be found here. But someone wrote that an universal adapter would just work as fine as long as it is converting to 9V. I sent my husband to check out the stores in Lucky Plaza - maybe he has more luck.

Go to a store on the 4th or 5th floor of funan called the cable store or something like that.  Take the toy and they will sort it out for you.   They have every kind of adapter / cable/ plug and they know what they're doing.

I've also bought the V tech smile for my daughter for Christmas and have been trying to find the adaptor.

Eventually bought one today from the hard ware shop next to the post office in 6 th Avenue.

It's a multiple AC adaptor with a dial on the front where you choose the voltage.

Oh my, how irritating!

So husband found a shop in Sim Lim Tower´s basement that also sold all kinds of adapters. Bought a 9V 500 mA  AC/DC adaptor. If you google the VTech adaptor you will find a picture of it, for example Amazon sells it... well, it needed a extra adaptor since the plug was to thin to fit.

Anyhow, we wanted to try it out this evening but without success. On the V-tech package there is a picture of a SCART cable and it says "Included for easy connection" - well, we could not find this SCART cable, which we need to plug it into the TV. Instead we found a note "the SCART not included"...

oh oh, how irritating... So we need to run to Sim Lim again.

Not a problem if you have a TV that would take three audio/video cables, but our Philips does not....

Finally!

Step 1.
Purchase the gamebox

Step 2. Ask yourself do you want to run it on batteries? If yes, go to step 3 otherwise run to Sim Lim or Funan IT and purchase an adaptor 9V plus one more adaptor if the cable does not fit.

Step 3. Do you have a TV that takes video in/out cables (the ones that are red, white and yellow coloured). If no, run to nearest TV shop like Harvey Norman and get a 12 dollar adaptor for SCART connection.

Your kid is ready to play!
