I am looking into local schools to send my son to - for P1 year.  Does anyone have any experience with Balesteir Hill Primary - used to be Swiss Cottage?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I am British and i send my child there and have a girlfriend who is also British who sends her kids there.  Many Xpats not on packages would send there children to Swiss Cottage as it is known as a multi cultral school which promotes racial harmony.

My child was at Swiss  Cottage (now Balester Hill) after 3 years in a school back home and he is now P5 at . I recommend it from an early age, however if the child is coming from an international school the transition may be difficult.

Great NEW campus, facilites are fab and the cultural education has been priceless. He loves it!!! The ECA's are good, the teachers are helpful and the basic education is as good as if not better than anywhere else. There is however 1 teacher to around 35-40 kids and this can sometimes be a disadvantage to the slower learner. They do address those issues. Mind you with the money u save from the International schools, the  extra can be spent in other areas of education that Balester Hill does not offer that your schools back home may have offered.

Whatever you do, make sure they take chinese, even if they are exempt from exams let them sit in on the lessons, which are around 10 per week. That alone is well worth it.
We are lkiving and working in a country different from our own, let our kids share the same experiences.

hope this helps
