This worked for both my babies and they are VERY good sleepers. My oldest slept through from 3 months and my youngest from 3 weeks!!!

No a/c. My oldest slept in our room. When I was on my own she'd sleep 4 hours but with hubby home she would only sleep 2 hours. It took me a few weeks to realise that I don't sleep with a/c unless he is home!

Own room. My oldest slept in the hallway as we didn't have a room for her. My youngest sleep in the guest room. I found that I woke them up and they woke me up. If they woke me up I always gave them a feed although they could do without.

Always feed in the dark and only change the nappy if they pooped. Change in as dark room as possible and don't say a word. Make it really boring!

Don't stress and hurry up the feeds during the day. The more food they get during the day the less they need at night. It felt like I just fed the baby all day long. It gets better when they start solids!

I agree that she is too young for controlled crying. All babies are different and I found that mine fell into their own sleeping pattern all by them selves. Books can be a bit much. Believe in your own intuition as a mother!

Anita
2 out of 2 kids - first born had colic until 4 mths, 2nd who is now 6 mths had reflux AND colic - many books inc Baby Love say no such thing as colic - I say absolute rubbish - colic is when their gut is so distended the baby is is absolute agony and their faces go bright purple with crying and their legs jerk up and down towards their tummy trying to get the wind out, you may also see a slightly blue colour around their mouth (for some strange reason they can also get colic when overstimulated and overtired). The main thing to remeber is you have to get the burp/wind out and it is only then that they will stop crying - I found the best remedy is Brauer Colic Relief (they sell it at  the Mother and Child Centre - Tanglin Mall - homeopathic drops but excellent - I use their whole range inc Teething Relief and Calming Drops (which they don't stock here). Once you have given the drops you need to out pressure onto the abdomen to get the wind out. Put the baby high onto your shoulder (she looks over your back) so that your shoulder is pressing right into her gut. She will still be screaming as you do this. Keep her up there for a minute and then bring her down, sit her bent over, or lay her over your knee and the burp should come out. Instant relief unless there is more than one burp! It definately sounds like your baby has colic and reflux. The reflux will pass sooner than the colic although the colic SHOULD subside once she reaches 4 mths. The head raised is an excellent remedy and you should keep their bed raised until @ 18 mths - it really helps inc when they have a cold . If you want to get more info, I am happy for you to email me - I am not a nurse just a very colic experienced mother!

Some babies cannot suck well and cry like crazy 'coz they are hungry...I can't explain it well but you can go to www.upledger.com.  They have a video feature on a baby that could suck milk either from a bottle or from her mom and craniosacral therapy helped her.
