hi,

I like to get a very simple stroller, that could easy fold almost like an umbrella. The one I could easy take and stow away on a bus and then use for transporting the little one a few hundred meters (in cases where he would refuse to walk or the road is too dangerous).

I have now a MacLaren XT Techno, and that is also a light weight stroller, but what I need is a even more basic one.

hello there, try to look for "combi". it's the japan brand. it is currently the lightest weight stroller in the market. the one that i have is 4.5kg only and easy to fold. it's with reasonable price too

i agree with lightweight stroller - i have a combi and mine is even lighter at 2.4 kg - it's great - it  folds twice, has a carrying strap, can stand on its own and is easily taken on buses, taxis, etc. It's light enough that you can carry your toddler in it down and up steps, etc. My Combi also does double duty for groceries and other shopping - i just attach 2 metal "S" hooks on it, and can hang shopping bags. Only catch is that it does not fully recline - maybe only about 270 degrees. I think a new model costs about $128. You can buy used ones from $20-60 on Yahoo Auctions.

ToysRUs have an incredibly basic umbrella stroller that might suit you. I think it's about $35. There's no shade, but should be fine for short distances if your child wears a hat.

hi thanks,

I willl look at the combi one. I dont need it to fold, I was thinking more of a bigger version than the ToysRUs thing they sell for dolls. :-) but not in pink....

I figured I need it just in case we will have to take the bus to nursery school every day and then I will push him the last meters to the door. For shopping, going zoo etc I still have my MacLaren.

Mothercare do a bigger version on the dolly's pushchair you talked about - in pink with flowers or blue, with circles I think. Not sure how much here but I believe was retailing for about £10 - £15 back in UK, so I'd imagine it'd be very cheap here too!

Hi there - I have the superlight combi pram - it's fantastic and I use it as my only pram.  I bought mine from OG for $395.  It's brilliant if you are looking for someting portable and compact...

Not luxuriously comfortable but my son isn't really in his pram for anymore than 20 to 30mins per stretch.

The ToysRUs stroller that a poster above mentioned is basically a scaled-up version of their dolls stroller. Won't stand up to too much rough use, but should be perfect for your needs. I used it in pretty much the same way and it was fine.

There is always the Maclaren Volo too - their most lightweight model. Pretty basic - doesn't fully recline but very light weight and has a carry strap so you can put it over your shoulder.

I found one in Japan at a Jusco for around US $35 - it was so lightweight I actually left it in a restaurant - will buy another next time we are in japan.

I haven't seen anything as lightweight here in singapore, but do try the japanese brands - or if you know anyone travelling to japan....

Toys-r-Us Esprit (rebranded from European stroller) - 5kg, large basket and sun canopy, lies flat - $140.  It's larger than the combi's, is made for  Europeans and far less plastic.  I did about a zillion hours of research for this.
