Has anyone seen cheaper versions of Heelys trainers with wheels anywhere? My boy really wants some for Christmas, but he's not getting them at $200 plus. And where can I get child-size wrist guards? Thanks.

In Eastpoint Mall I saw them selling for S$88.  Not sure if they are still there, I'll look tonight and let you know.

However, kids sliding around shopping malls on wheels is nothing more than very annoying. But I suppose it's better than being glued to a computer screen.

Thanks 88. I'll await your confirmation. And rest assured you won't find my kids sliding around shopping malls. Canal paths will do just fine.

They also sell copies at the Sunday market on the East Coast Park - behind the mcdonalds.  About 80 bucks - maybe less, I wass pretty tee'd off as I'd just shelled out close to 200 the day before!!

I think I saw some in Toys R Us for around $80 or $90.  They come in Barbie, Hulk and Spiderman themes.

88 - Why is it anymore annoying than people walking very slowly dragging their shoes, or meandering around, or standing in aisle in groups talking and blocking the way, or little children stopping dead and getting in the way? I expect you get annoyed at people with pushchairs - or wheelchairs. Goog God, the children are just enjoying themselves you misery.

I agree that kids in these shoes are annoying. Had my foot run over in the Esplanade on Sunday by one of these critters. Young kids on wheels in crowded places are just dangerous. They lose their balance and grab onto the nearest person or object to save themselves falling.  It's quite different from somebody walking with a pushchair or wheelchair.
I think these shoes are awesome fun for kids - but in the right place.

2cts: I Have wondered about this. Can you direct me to any research or expert opinion along those lines? What damage can they do? What level of use is involved for the damage to occur?
