Hello

Just tried to book ferry tickets to bintan and was not allowed by the ferry company as I am 7 months - I don't want to fly, but would like to get away for a few days - can anyone recommend anything?  I understand that I can't go to any indonesian islands if I am more than 6 months pregnant.......

Not exactly my cup of tea - but there are busses that drive to Langkawi - more or less every day, I think it tales about 8 hours. Otherwise you may want to check out Malacca or KL

I'm 7 months pregnant and flying to Bali on Monday. SIA cutoff is 35 weeks pregnant. Other places within a couple of hours flying are Phuket, Langkawi or Penang. Ideally I wanted Langkawi, but all the hotels I wanted were fully booked. Good luck - take the holiday while you can!

Whoops, just reread your posting. If you don't want to fly, you can always go to Sentosa and pretend you're elsewhere. Or you can take an executive bus to somewhere in Malaysia

Or what about one of those Star Cruises to nowhere?
Although I guess you would then be stuck on a boat if something happened... ?

my sis-in-law was late into her pregnancy when she and hubby decided on a trip to a malaysian resort.
the malaysian customs chap, on seeing her very pregnant,  turned them  back.
its all about your appearance

Dear Not Really

How pregnant was your sister may I ask?

Was surprised to hear the customs guy turned her away - we were just considering a rainforest reserve about an hour from Johor but I don't want to risk being turned away!   By the way, I am HUGE this time around and people think I am around 8 months pregnant so this could be a problem....
