You may think you are being forgiving but children can sense a change in you tone, or signs of exasperation. If they are not fully aware of their movements and keep having accidents then this could upset them as they have no control over it and are letting you down. If they keep having accidents then it is not the time to train them. Put them back into nappies and try again a month later. Some children get so hung up about it they end up with constipation.
Let them be babies and don't fall into this 'my baby did this by ..months cr@p"
Lish - it's obvious from your post that you are not happy with this. Don't be influenced if your maid is a mother and older. If it's not what you had planned then stop her. She may makwe the baby frightened of the toilet. How would you like to be suspended over a big white thing full of water. The child will not be relaxed and will find it difficult to go. Potties are ideal because they are child sized, brigtlhy coloured and warm.
