School day

Hopefully this is one school question that isn't too touchy.

We have started to look at schools for our three year old. She would be starting at 4 or 4 and a half. I had a very stressful school experience at one of the top schools in the States (according to Time Magazine).  And I am looking for a little more of a low key approach for our bright (according to her parents  ) and sensitive little girl.

Could you please tell me the hours of the school day for the international school your kids go to? I've heard it can vary up to 2 hours plus or minus. I am planning on visiting, but would be grateful for the headstart, since I'm pregnant and really tired...

Hi  - my little one is at Tanglin Trust, in nursery (age 3-4) they start at 9am - 12.00pm, when they go into Reception (4-5) they start at 7.50am - 1.50pm, I was horrified about the early start but my wee one has coped with it much better than I do - I love the holidays more than him I think as we are not all up at 6.15am

My daughter is nearly 4 and goes to Dover Court nursery. She leaves on the bus at 8am and is back home (on the bus again) at 11:45. And she loves it!

Sorry - didn't read first post properly. My son also goes to Dover Court (aged 7) and the hours are 8:30 til 3pm.

Thanks for the replies, any parents who can tell me about OFS, UWC and the Canadian school? I am thinking school day without bus, since that would vary.

For UWC the school day is 8am to 2pm for kindergarten and grade 1.  It worked fine for our children.

mine are at Eton House, they start at 8.45am (bus leaves home at around 8am).  they finish at 3.30pm and get home around 4pm.  Half day children (kindergarten) start at the same time and finish around 12.30pm (it might be slightly different for the pre-school branches of EH though).

OFS (K and elementary) is 9 to 3.30. Pre K has morning and afternoon sessions - not sure of time.
