Does anyone know if there is a difference between the Farmhouse  full cream milk and Masters full cream milk?  There is a significant price difference between the two, so I am wondering if perhaps Farmhouse  isn't completely fresh milk.

From what I can tell, it's just branding.  Some people swear they can tell the difference and are willing to pay the extra.  They are both fresh

We like Meiji.  Farmhouse (full cream/whole milk) tends to be quite thick.  Masters, as you say, costs a bit more.

I base my choice of milk for little ones on the origin of the milk ie where there are strict laws covering what the dairy herd can be drugged with and laws covering quality of feed re content and pesticide residues etc. Also it must be somewhere where there is a good chance these laws are followed by the farmer! I'm not worried about which brand.

We used to drink the meiji til someone pointed out they put sugar in is ( can you believe ??!!! ) now we use either browns or Farmhouse - both from Australia as you say the origin can be important

Are you joking about added sugar??  Going to check my bottle now!

Think what they put in Daisy and Marigold milk to make it taste the way it tastes!!  YUK!

We often buy Brownes too.

My Meiji bottles say "Fresh Milk 100%"

There is "sugar" in the list of Nutrition Facts.  Maybe they're referring to the natural sugar content?

It is added sugar, probably like a lot of the local baby formula, a friend wondered why her 8 week old baby's burps smelt of vanilla until she carefully read the ingredient label.
Have you tasted the Meija milk.  Yuk - certainly doesn't taste like fresh milk to me.  Cold Storage sent it to me once instead of Masters or Farmers, none of my 3 children would touch it so I was left with 8 litres of the stuff.

Wow!  8 litres is a lot of surplus milk!

I'm talking about Meiji Fresh Milk - comes in 2L bottles, Full Fat and Low Fat (dark blue and light blue tops).  Not baby formula - so-called "FRESH" milk.  They do have flavoured varieties (choc, coffee, strawberry, in smaller bottles).  Hubby seems to think it's ok and he delivered milk in UK when he was a lad - grew up on "green top".

Apparently, some brands are reconstituted milk, from milk powder. Personally, I prefer brownes, and greenfields; but they still don't have the same oomph and creaminess that we used to get with the doorstep deliveries at home (was it silver-top for full cream?)
