We're looking for a kindergarten for our four and a half year old son.  First off i have to mention that tution fees is an issue.  I wonder if anyone hear knows of a good kindergarten (either stand alone or as part of a larger school) that is not too expensive and accepts payment monthly rather than per semester?

on the whole we'd prefer international schools/kindergartens.  Tried a local one earlier in the year and it wasn't a success.  My son is in playschool now which is OK but he's not being challenged and will soon the be the oldest kid there as other 4 year olds are leaving.

Any help is very appreciated.

I wish I could be more helpful but have you tried Chatsworth or ISS (International School Singapore) or Rosemount.  I'm not sure what their fees are like or how payments are structured but I would certainly hope that they would work with you on that.  They do need to realise that not everyone here is on a full expat package.  I know that there have been some financial problems with Rosemount so not sure how steady the school is at the moment (I had a friend that used to work there) so you may want to check the others as well.  There's also Eton House but I have heard really mixed things about the school but it's really very individual so you may want to take a look.

I hope you find what you're looking for!  Best of luck!
