a relative recently had twins. My problem is wether for birthdays etc we send one card, or two. do you thin the parents would be ofended if since i am OS if i sent 2 cards in 1 envelope, or should i keep everything seperate as though they were not born on the same day from the same egg?
Since we are not that close pressies won't be an issue, but if i do ever give them gifts does one give them the same thing (perhaps a different colour) or compleatly different things?

Speaking from experience you can get 1 card and put both names on it since they are babies until they are old enough to understand. Always send each twin a seperate gift. The same gift different color is fine until they are older. Once they hit puberty competition starts.

In my opinion you should treat them separately - they are two individuals...if they were born a year apart, you would treat them separately. Probably Ok to buy the same thing diff col. while they are babies, but hey, they will have different personalities - even as young as 3yrs! I could never understand why people DRESS their kids in the same clothes even if they are twins....no wonder so many people suffer identity crises!

Hey I am a twin and have 3 sets of twins in my family. My mom would dress us up the same except of socks, hair clips, and stockings different colors. When they are young it does not matter so much being babies, but when they get older toddler age I would get the same toy in different color or else it would cause a fight. When we got different gifts when we were under 10 years old my twin would always say her gift is better and so on. When they are in their earlier teens then you can send different gifts.

Also a twin, where do you stand on the cards? i am a bit out of the loop living OS, i don't hear what the rest of the family are doing for things like the 1st birthday. i don't even know if the mother does dress them in the same clothes or not. when they are older and know us and who they are and who we are i will choose gifts/cards based on their individual personalities, but for now they are babies, it is more the parents i am worried about upsetting!! i think i will go with one card, for this birthday, once home again i will find out what the rest of the family are up to! and since i would have met them by then i can get a better feel for it.

We used to get 1 card when we were young and it never upet our parents. If they are only babies it should not make a diffrence. When we were older we got seperate cards and gifts. IF these families members get upset for you sending 1 card then they seem selfish. It sounds like they are distant family and should be happy that you are sending a card.
