I have read the previous posts re schools on both this thread and the FAQ thread and the information has been very helpful.

I still do have questions though. One is clarification: Does UWC refer to the Overseas Family School?  And one is the college (UWC) and OFS is K-12?

What is the daily class schedule for the public elementary schools? And the calendar schedule? I went on the MOE site, but could not find this information.

Thank you for your help.

No. The two schools are entirely separate. UWC is United World College of South East Asia, one of ten such schools around the world.

I can’t help with your other question, I am sure someone will oblige.

some public elementary schools start as early as 7 and some later.  Some end as early as i and some as late as 230.  But after that there are some after school activities or remedial or enrichment classes that may end till 5 or 6.

School year starts at January and ends in March for the first quarter, starts in March till May for the second quarter, starts in June till August for the third quarter and August to October for the fourth quarter.

OFS is the Overseas family school.  They offer K-12 - same as UWC.

By public school - do you mean the Singapore local schools??  I know they have a month off in June and other weeks here and there but can't help any more than that.  International schools have differing schedules for holidays so you would have to find out from each one.

if you mean local schools, many run two school days in one school as there isn't enough space for pupils.. So first 'sitting' will be 7.00-7.30 until 12.30-1.30, then next will be 12.30- 1.30 till 6.00-7.00. Your child will do the early sitting one year and the late the next.

Class sizes usually around 40-45.
