Being from Australia, parks and challenging play equipment (swings, climbing equipment, slides etc) are part of life.  Where are the best parks that offer such facilities in Singapore (apart from those in private condos)

There is a great childrens adventure playground at West Coast Park.  It's near the McDonnalds.  The only problem is that it can get quite hot and there is little or no shade / breeze to keep the child cool.  I have been there a couple of times with my almost 2 year old, but the heat has limited our stay to 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour.  Instead, we sometimes visit East Coast Park - there is not so much play equipment there but he is able to run around, look at the ships, etc, and it is generally much cooler.

Pasir Ris Adventure Playground -Elias Road between carparks D&E.

Bit far if you're not on the East side but well worth a visit. It's divided into sections for different ages so there's  something for toddlers to more grown up kids.

The wet/dry playground at the Bird Park is fantastic but only worth it if you have family membership and don't need to pay to get in otherwise it can be quite expensive to use as you have to pay normal entry fee.

These are my two faves (oh and my son's!)
