I would be very grateful if parents could give me an insight into their experiences with pre-schools in the Holland Village area - ideally I want to find somewhere for my son by Xmas this year (he will be 18mths) before his younger brother/sister comes along - please let me know what you suggest.  Many Thanks.

Not Holland V, but at Ridgewood Condominiums (near the old Australian School), there's a lovely preschool called The Corner Playhouse.  If you have a car, it's close enough.  My child started at 18 months and continued 'til 4.  they focus on themes (zoo animals, plants, etc.) and build storytelling, dancing, singing and art around that.  My little one went for two hours a day (9-11 for the younger ones, 11-1:30 for the older ones).  Good luck

Take a look at Zesty Spot at Pandan Valley.  It's a local school, so you benefit from there not being long holiday periods, and the teachers are all really gentle, kind and enthusiastic.  They have lots of interesting themes and make an effort to keep the kiddies busy and happy.  It's been a great environment for my daughter, who's rather shy - she's now been there for 18 months and still really enjoys it.
