We have been here for quite a lont time - Neither of us is from Singapore. My husband is from the UK (I am not) but has never worked there. Recently, we are starting to talk about the possiblity of going back (for him) to the UK. I have visited there several times but never actually lived there.

Some people on this board have written that they have set the deadline to go home. I feel like we should do the same thing as well. The life here is great - a wonderful helper, a nice-ish house, multinational environment, safety etc...but I personally feel that I shouldn't think this life is normal.

Do you think it would be difficult for someone with no working experiences in the UK to find a job? As someone said, I always feel that I am a guest in this country.

I can't speak to your future employment situation in the UK.  But I would think that if you need to acquire certain skills and/or reinvent yourself, that would certainly be possible.  I sense from your posting that there is some urgency or anxiety in determining how long you should stay in Singapore. Your current lifestyle may not be considered the norm in the UK, but it is definitely normal in Singapore - and would be considered normal in many countries.  If both life and work is currently to your liking why put stress on yourselves to go back to the "real" world - when the "real" world is also where you are now.

Hard enough for those who DO have experience in the UK, love.
