erm ... what nationality are you?  Contact your embassy to find out the turnaround time.

If you are Singaporean, do it online via the internet.  It takes 3 working days.

We applied for a US passport for our newborn on a Tuesday and by the following Monday we had our passport. I thought that was very fast, considering the passport was processed and sent to the US and back!!

You can download the relevant documents from your consulate's web site. If not, the guards at the gate house have them on hand.

Well you are all lucky.

I've rung my embassy and it's going to take 30 days!  Yawn!

Is it easy to get the photos taken with the babies eyes open?

when I went to get the photos taken; my son was sleeping. it killed me to wake him!! (don't we want them to sleep??) I had to walk around for awhile and then finally he woke up. He was 4 wks old and it wasn't a problem for his eyes to remain open during the photo.

I recently had my daughters passport photos taken and it was no problem for her to be asleep.  This was for british passport.
