I have used up the citric acid sachets that you get with the Avent steriliser. Does anybody know where to buy them? Or how else do you clean the steriliser?
Thanks

Hi there - for some very strange reason Avent won't stock the citric acid sachets to shops here. You need to send a cheque to Avent in Singapore and they will mail you the sachets. I think they're about 50c each (best to call them first to check). I think you can also descale with white vinegar but not sure how to do this.

I bought some descaler (also for kettles, irons, etc) from a hardware/DIY store on 2/F  Jelita shopping centre but I guess you can find it everywhere.  I think the brand's Rayon.

I found this "recipe" using vinegar on the internet:

Descaler

 # One part vinegar with two parts water is all you need to clean your kettle and iron. Kettle - pour into the kettle bring to a boil, rinse well.
 # Iron - Put some in the resevoir, let it stand for 30 minutes, rinse well.

This is the contact number of the Avent supplier in Spore +65 62685966.  I obtained it from the Robinsons staff when I went searching for the sachets.

You have to send them a cheque for the amount and a return address.  The sachets will arrive in the post once they receive your payment.

BM, please kindly do not delete this.  Many mommies who use Avent steriliser need this once the citric acid sachets that come with the steriliser runs out.  Need it to descale the steriliser for babies' sake.

How About
We don't delete generic information as such, unless it is promo material.

It would be nice to turn the table around, though. Tell the Avent supplier that they should advertise on our website. For our sake. And for the sake of the expats. As well as for their own business' sake!

you can get a big packet of citric acid for descaling in guardian - it's kept behind the pharmacy counter at around $12

Any old Chemist, Guardian or otherwise, should stock it. Pretty run of the mill for them.
