We are moving to Singapore early in the new year and would like to buy one of those car seats that turn into a stroller for our 6 month old baby so that we can use it in taxis.  Can anyone tell us where we can buy them from within Singapore and about how much they are?

I saw one at kids mall on L3 at Suntec City for S$350+.  Looks good but the frame is pretty wobbly even without the child in there, so don't know how the frame will cope when adding a wriggling 5 - 12kg child.

I haven't used one, perhaps someone who has could advise if the frame is effective.

Alternatively, there are prams for sale which have clip on baby car seats, however once the child grows out of this you are back to square one without a child restraint in the car.

I used a standard baby carseat and simply put it inside my standard stroller! Worked like a dream and no extra money spent...

I think you are looking for a Sit'nStroll carseat stroller. I haven't seen any here in Singapore except those that were bought in the US and brought over. I have one and loved it! It goes up to 40#s and is certified for air travel.

You can do a search on it on the web. I saw it for about US$200. It's well worth it if you intend to travel with a baby/child up to about 4.  If you are going to get a seat on the airplane for your wee one, get it! He/she will be comfortable on your trips.

Although it advertises that you can pull out the wheels while the baby is in the carseat, I found it cumberson to do it alone. I think it's safer with someone holding the front up while you pull out the wheels from the back.
