Hi
I've been looking about singapore for building toys -- to fit certain requirements - and have had little luck.

A Singaporean friend saw what we had and asked me to get it for her little boy for his b'day gift...I said "yes" before I realised it might not be available here (we bought it in Canada)

I don't know the name of the toy or the brand (it's not on the pieces), but here goes::
-- they are plastic building pieces - square, rectangle, wheel shapes -- that are covered on all 4 sides with loads of plastic "pins".  These "pins" mesh with the pins of the other parts so they can be built into something or stacked.
The pieces rane from palm size to a bit longer than my finger.

If anyone has any ideas (even with my poor description) I'd be very grateful.

I've looked at Forum (toysrus, twinklekids, etc) and at Tanglin.

Cheers!

These sound like "Sticklebricks" .  I haven't seen them here but that is what they are called.

Bob, you're brilliant -- I took that name on to the web and behold! ours are indeed sticklebricks.

Of course, as you mention, they don't seem to be available here except through mail-order, but....

this means I shall tell my friend that we shall bring some back next year and... now I'll find something else for their little boy now.

Cheers!
