I know a lot of women have difficulty conceiving and sometimes need egg donations.  I've had two babies and am convinced my eggs are fine and would like to help people that battle to conceive if at all possible.  I could never be a surrogate mother cause I don't think I could give away a baby I have carried to term...
Does anyone have any advice on egg donation?  Where can I look it up?  Is it in demand in Singapore, I know in the UK there are notices up all over the place for egg donators.  Tx

Hi! Good for you!

What I did when I donated eggs after I had my children (conceived with a bit of fertility help and I just so wanted to give back) Was I contacted my Gyno and asked his advice, this wasn't in Sg, but I'm sure your gyno (or doctor) could steer you in the right direction.

My doctor was so happy as he new my eggs were fine, and he already had lists a mile long for couples waiting. This is a fair while ago, and in my home country you couldn't accept money for eggs, they had to be donated/altruistic.

So, I went through it, and I won't lie to you, it was a full IVF cycle and it wasn't comfortable, and the daily injections gave me moods (like living with severe PMT) and the egg harvest was day surgery, and bloated and bleh afterwards. The couple who were receiving the eggs at that time had to pay for my treatment, that was my only stipulation, that it didn't cost me... they even wanted to pay my taxi fares to consults, but I didn't take it that far.

I was "just" the right side of 35 at the time, any older, I wouldn't have been allowed to donate, and even though they harvested 8 eggs I think it was, they were unable to freeze them for future use as they were only implanting 3 into the lady, the rest shattered when they tried to freeze them.

Having said all this, I would not hesitate to go through it again, but, you will need the support of your partner, because it is tough on them too. (mine didn't quite "get" it, but he supported my decision, and sadisticly enjoyed jabbing me in the butt daily with the syringe)
