I was tested positive on home pregnancy tests on 23 Dec! Couldn't believe my eyes, I spent money on 5 Clearblue, 1 Watson housebrand and 1 Predictor. All +ve!!! I was so thrilled, I wrapped them and gave them to my husband as an additional Christmas present.

I figured I'm in my 4th week. Is it time to see a gynaecologist or should I wait for a while?

Oh happy day! Congratulations!
You can easily wait till you are 8-10 weeks pregnant. If you want to do an early ultrasoundscan wait till you are 6-7 weeks and you can see the heart beat.
Good luck with your pregnancy!

Congratulations!! - That must have been the best Christmas gift for you.

As the above poster stated, no need to rush to the gynae now.. but most probably you want to have it officially confirmed and see it on the ultrasound. So make an appointment in about 2 weeks time. Meanwhile take good care of yourself.
Have a great pregnancy!

I went to a family doctor this morning, just to verify that I am indeed pregnant. Can you believe the doctor refused to acknowledge I could be? His own test showed a positive line and he told me the test could be wrong. Reason, the first day of my last cycle was 30 Nov!

I thought you could have false negatives but never a false positive. I tested positive a few days early too. Baby arrived two weeks early eventually...apparently that cycle was a bit early or something. Why don't you go to an OB-GYN? There's nothing quite as reassuring as seeing that tiny black blob on the ultrasound screen and knowing it's your baby!

Congratulations. Your doc is just being cautious because you haven't missed the start of your next period. There's no real value in visiting any doc at this stage anyway as they can't tell you anything you haven't already confirmed with a home testing kit, unless you haven't started on folic acid supplements yet, which are important before or in the early stages of pregnancy - ask your doc about those.  Wait another 2 or 3 weeks before you head to the obgyn and start on the ante-natal treadmill and in the meantime get a couple of good books on pregnancy and read up all there is to know so you are well informed when you do visit the Obgyn. Best of luck - 2006 is going to be an exciting year for you.
