I read on this board a couple of months ago that there is a medical insurance you can take out once you're already pregnant.  I am 15 weeks pregnant and we are not insured to have a child in Singapore.  We are happy to wear all the regular costs of having a baby privately here.  Our doctor and the hospital both have packages which seem reasonable.  What we're really looking for is a plan that would cover neo-natal intensive care if our baby happens to be born premature.  We've heard stories about expat families being hit with $30,000 bills because their babies needed a couple of weeks in neo-natal intensive care.  Any advice would be much appreciated!

I think that oub has a policy that you can use if you are already pregnant.  I think it is called mum @ my future or something like that??  Do let us know how you go please,  and if you do manage to find insurance what the premiums are and what they cover?  Good luck.
