Hi, im a kid (16) living in Singapore now in secondary 4.  I am studying 3 pure science,A maths,E maths,Chinese,English,Combine humanities(hist and ss). Recently i have been asking myself "What i want to be when i grow up?"

I have totally no where to start my thinking,  people normally say "Do what suits you and what you enjoy" i ask myself, this question, i only know i hate sciences but i cant continue after that,i do not like anything in particular after that. After a while i find that nursing is a job that i think i might be able to take it. But im a male and the social pressure is that male will be insulted and the nursing pay in Singapore is general too low to support a family.

I appreciate if someone could just start me off and let me know what i really want to be when i grow up and the job would be able to support a family (i don intend my wife to work,if she doesn't want to).

Thank in advance.

when i was your age, i wanted to be this and that too but now that i'm grown up, i'm very far from where i wanted to be.

people go through many life experiences and your perspective will change as time goes by, and so will your ambition.

just flow with the go. do what you enjoy doing. things will fall into place.

1. google "careers advice" or similar
2. try some 'work experience' during school holidays.  Most companies would be happy to have a free junior for a few weeks, and this gives you an insight into the working world, any opportunities, and possibly a nice reference for your CV

I totally agree with Mr Hyde. Things don't always unfold according to our plans. Do plan and have an aim but at the same time you must be flexible and go with the flow if need be. Life itself is a changing flow, the wise considers every new step.
