Or are we set for a re-run of Moscow 1980 and LA 1984 boycotts following the the USSR invasion of Afghanistan in 1979? If Taiwan were "sorted out" quickly, then the level of no-shows at the games might be minimal.
As for the 2012 games. If London wins the staging, it might come at a time of UK secession from the EU....
Nothing like the Olympic games for focusing the world on political issues - apart from oil!

Where is this BJ competition you speak of held?  Is there one before 2008?  How do they choose the judges?

I would very much like to be a judge at the BJ event in 2008.   What strengths are we measured on;

a. Stamina
b. Length
c. Volume
d. All of the above

As for the Beijing Olympics - no Taiwanese participation.

You'd like to be a judge, Joseph?   Why would you like to see guys getting blown, is living in KL that boring?

Ditto - no Taiwanese in Beijing as Taiwan, Formosa, RoC or anything.

Nonsense.

As part of the deal to host the Olympics, China has already agreed that Taiwan, as always, will be allowed to compete -- but as Chinese Taipei, as they always do.

More controversially, China wants the Olympic flame to go through every one of its provinces "including Taiwan", during the relay.
