The tried and tested Publius approach, throw out enough follow up bullsh:t and hiope the original point will be at least adequately blurred to be lost in the mix.

The fact that you are now trying to qualify your original clear statement is proof enough for me that what you originally said was wrong.

In order for the statement

<<Having a member of your family or a friend return in a coffin is traumatic, having them return seriously physically or mentally impaired is equally as bad.>>

to be correct the predominant answer to the following poll would have to be "c."

You are the parent of a young man serving in the military, he is about to be shot.

Would you prefer that he be subsequently returned to you

a. In a coffin.

b. In a wheel chair.

c. No difference, they're about the same to me.

What are th odds of c. actually being most peoples answer?

(Meanwhile, distraught at the idea that there exists a thread that was neither started by, nor revolves around, Dr O, he valiantly continues to try to get involved as best he can.)

Whereas option C has the following exclusions:

1. Soldiers who can sing, dance, act or perform in any other artistic way.
2. Soldiers who's IQ is substantially higher than the average
3. Soldier who will manage to overcome their disability

Legal adjustments should be made accordingly:
1. Killing any person, seriously disabled due to acts of war and who do not comply to option C, should be labelled "pre-emptive burial" and "act of mercy".
2. Killing any person, seriously disabled due to acts of war and who do comply to option C, should be labelled "murder".
