Critics of US declare victory.

"US has failed in Iraq!", declared Leftie Limpwrist for the International Coalition for Suspecting All Things Different.

"The war has been over for nearly a month now and things still aren't perfect!" Leftie complained in his unique shrill tone "I mean, how long do they need to repair 25 years of state oppression, 3 wars, and 12 years of sanctions? I think any reasonable person would have expected the US to have rendered Iraq a democratic workers paradise by now. I mean we're only talking about rebuilding a nation from scratch, now that's not too difficult now is it? "

"There is no doubt" added Leftie in a seriously condescending tone, "that if we had followed the UN direction and done nothing, living standards in Iraq would have surpassed those of Switzerland as early as last week. It's an outrage."

Nice one, MM.

And Lolita, speaking of the Iran-Iraq war, perhaps you could enlighten us as to how you would have conducted US policy. Would you have been content perhaps to see the Ayatollah's fanaticism take root in Baghdad, Kuwait and Riyadh?

Can you say oil embargo? How about global economic depression?
