Has the Living message board been hijacked by a visiting group of dysfuntional children?

One man recently wrote about fears that his wife was cheating on him, yet many of the responses were marked by taunts and outright glee. The entire board seems infected with people suffering stunted emotional development. One of the beauties of travelling abroad was that you left many of the moronic dickheads at home. Till now, that is.

I think it's because they're insecure of themselves unconsciously.

I think that with the economic slowdown in singapore, Singapore companies have to hire lower quality expats to do the job in the past couple of years.

Come to think of it, I just realized that I fall into that category. I got hired within the past 2 years.

If you want to hire someone you want him to have all these 3 qualities: Smart, Motivated and Ethical. If he lacks ethics, you really don't want him to be smart and motivated.

Hasn't it pretty much always been like that?  And, in reality, I think that's what draws a lot of people to that board.  Like watching a train wreck or something.

There's always been an element of it, in terms of one or two posters stirring the pot before being drowned out by the others. Now, however, the hecklers and jeerers are starting to dominate the discourse.

Were they always here but unable to figure out the internet, or did a ship carrying convicts to Antarctica run aground in the strait?

see? usually a post like your last one would invite moronic trolls to defend themselves and the reason theyre not is coz they'd then have to use their registered nicks here in TALKING POINT.

Bruno,
I know what you mean

-there's the person who wants help in choosing between two gfs,
-the middle aged naivette asking out loud on why people cheat
-someone else wonders why in Singapore his relationships never work out (as if they HAVE to work out here)
-or the guy who is shocked that somebody overcharged him
-and inevitably, the man or woman who can't get a date and doesn't know what his/her options are --and how shocked they are when I bring up a few time-honored remedies

aren't modern people terribly stupid?

i started off here as a troll too...i mean im still as ugly as one but ive vowed never to be immature again.

its quite annoying this trolls actually. some of them lighten up the mood but there are some really angry ones whose postings are baseless as they are unconstructive.

Have been active on this board for around five years, (since the old format) and yes, it's definitely degenerated over the years. Maybe it's just a correlation of the more pessimistic times we live in!

You think?  I've been using it for about 5 years as well.  I was recommended to use it because of the great humor to be found in all the flame wars about maids and spgs and how Americans suck.  That was in 1999.
