War can give purpose to generation X to which I belong. It might take us heavy drinking and life celebrating youth out of the pubs, it may help guys' achne and weakness and girls' depressions, complaints about petty matters. It might give rise to a tougher generation, either here on earth or in heaven.

Alenka1973,
I couldn't agree with you more. Nothing gets a shallow, superficial punk thinking about philosophy like a bullet zinging his head. At the same time, we solve youth unemployment by killing off a few of them.

And the US Navy has run widely acclaimed sex & alcohol education programmes in Olongapo, BKK, etc. for years.

Not only do we teach those boys how to be men, the unemployed young women are given new careers as relationship counsellors.

You mean like the foreign talent "relationship counsellors" down at "Geylang Good Times 888 Lucky Lucky Special Extra Massage Spa and Hotel"?

Dr. Opinion,
Geylang's foreign talent can be thought of as employees of the biotech/life sciences sector.

For some reason, many are only given a two week employment pass, though  Geylang coffee shop stalls can tell you that they are a vital source of hard currency.

I can imagine that with the economy the way it is, a number of potential investors will be moving their money from collapsed Tech stocks and choosing short term growth in the Geylang Biotech/Life Sciences sector. Personally, I'm still waiting for Red Hat to make it's amazing recovery.
