Did anyone happen to catch Nigella's Feast late last night?
IMHO, this series is far inferior to her earlier work (odd camera angles, odd lighting and she doesn't seem to have the same sense of confidence and command)...
She's always been a coquette, and a highly watchable one. Last night she appeared in a black cocktail dress, a loooooow-cut black cocktail dress, to make some sort of "late night after partying" comfort food. I loved watching her make it but for the life of me can't remember a detail about what she cooked. I was about to give up on the series, but now my eyes will be glued to the set.

Anyone else noticed how Botoxed she is these days.  Her brow does not move at all - and she's older than me and used to have wrinkles.

I love watching her programs, however the way the camera moves gives me a headache.  Its the same with Jamie Olivers program, gives me a headache cos the camera moves around too quickly.

I think she's great (and I'm a woman!).  I love the way she's so passionate about what she cooks and she's not afraid to eat it either.  I liked the one I watched where she made chili with a cornbread topping and you see her at the end, sneaking a few spoonfuls before bed........just like a real person.

In all the years I watched the old style cooks like Delia and that man/woman from the USA (Julia someone) - I don't think I ever saw them try their own food!

but yes, the camera person needs to sort his or her life out - we're watching a blinkin' cooking show not re-runs of The Tube**

** (mid 80s music show fond of its strange camera angles.........for those that don't know!)

she is beautiful but her food is awful...she is trying to be a posh jamie oliver with her new bish bash bosh stylised show but it's so obviously contrived.

While Nigella is attractive, don't you find that she uses her sexuality to sell her cooking shows?

I mean is she any more talented than the many real chefs found on cooking shows?

she does flirt with the camera it has to be said.

She's not a chef - as far as I know she's never trained.  I think it is just a passion for cooking rather than a job.  So she's probably not more talented, just loves cooking.

I like Nigella but she drives me mad the way she never ties her hair up and how can someone cook in a denim jacket?

Her comment about eating pineapple kebabs in the last show nearly sent me rushing to a cold shower. Afraid can't post it on a family blog

Cook in a denim jacket? How does she cook in those tight pristine white sweaters without getting them dirty?

I don't know.  When I cook I come out of the kitchen looking like I've had a fight with the ingredients!

She does not seem to be able to cook anything without loads of cream or butter or something full of calories, and her recipes don't work very well (and I'm a pretty good cook).

I've only tried two - the roast lemon chicken and the roast leg of lamb in a dry rub of ras al hanout. won't try the first one ever again (far too greasy) and the latter was good, but hardly a standout to rave about. Still, I'll try a few more before making a decision on whether to put her book at the back of the recipe rack.
