I want to make a hot crab dip and every recipe I can find has Old Bay seasoning in it.  I have no idea what it is or should taste like.  Don't expect to be able to get it in Singapore but can anyone tell me what might taste like or be similar too?

OK let me refine my question, because I posted, then googled (should have been the other way around, I know...).  Did you know Old Bay Seasoning has its own website!

Anyway, to those who know what it is and what it should taste like, can you recommend something similar I could use?

Thank you.

Venice - thanks for that. Has anyone eles seen crab boil here?  We brought a supply with us but if it's not available will have to stock up again.  That stuff rocks and is brainless to use.

Old Bay is all over the place here.  Cold Storage Jelita and Holland has it.  Others probably do as well.
