Just wondering if anyone has found sundried tomatoes cheaper than at CS, Jasons etc.

We use them frequently and finding them quite expensive here. Any other sources ??

I've seen them at NTUC Gourmet Supermarket at Bishan Junction 8.  Maybe you can call them and find out the price.

I use them in risottos, on top of pizzas,  when i do an antipasto platter, sometimes i stuff chicken breasts with it & cheese & crumb it,  add it to my home made pesto sauce, or just in a toasted sandwich is lovely also.

Getting hungry now!!!

You can make your own by buying fresh red & ripe roma or egg tomatoes (i think thats what they call it) & quarter them removing most of the seeds,  & place in a fan forced oven on the lowest heat for at least 12 hours or until they become dry & the moisture is gone- if u like them semi-dried dont leave them as long.

Place in jars with good olive oil & season them with salt, pepper,  oregano & garlic .
