I'm planning a trip to Bangkok and Myanmar and we only booked the flights, so that we have to look there for some nice hotels.
Any recommendations?
We need some hotels, where you can have a nice stay without paying more than 100 SGD per night.

Futhermore I'm not so familiar with the requirements to visit Myanmar:
Do I have to change the 200 USD per person on arrival at the Yangon airport or is it enough, if all together change the 200 USD?
Anybody knows the sense of this requirement?

Please let me know!

Conny,
We just got back from Myanmar and we loved it!  I can recommend a great hotel, the Pan Sea, but I'm not sure how much it costs.  We had a tour package and it was included in the price.  It's really lovely, kind of post-colonial and the staff is great. I found the website, http://www.pansea.com/yangon.htm.    You do have to change US $200, unless you're on a tour package, in which case you're exempted.  If you're interested in a tour guide, I highly recommend June with Tour Mandalay.  Also, remember that you don't want to change money at "official" places.  The official rate is $US 6 to $1 Kyat.  We did in on the "black market" and it was $US 400 to $1 Kyat -- much better don't you think?!  We stayed in Yangoon the entire time and there's lots to do there.  Beautiful pagodas, tons of great shopping and you can get great prices on Burmese lacquer-wear (I got 12 pieces for $41 US), silver and rubies, etc.  If you have any more questions, just let me know.
HTH,
Larissa

If you have time, I'd definately recommend going to Bagan - it's wonderful.  We stayed at the Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel.  If you're going in low season, you should be able to negotiate a good deal there and in the hotels in Yangon.
