My husband and I are avid whitewater canoeists, and are wondering if there are any rapids close to Singapore?

paddler : as suzie has mentioned you can try the rapids at Queenstown, also at Tully river near Cairns, at Bali too, or also at Malaysia, near to the Northern part...lastly at Africa too...

have gone for the rapids at Tully river, was my first experience & had a great time, would love try other type of levels on the rapids at other countries...

Thanks Tanned Suzie & Latex (there's a picture   )
What type of craft were you in? - Kayak (sitting with two bladed paddle), Canoe (kneeling with a single bladed paddle) or raft? (Sorry for stating what-might-be the obvious, but some people call kayaks canoes).
I'm canoe - and where can you get them?

My wife is really interested in finding out about those little buggy things that live in water and might burrow under your skin  when you're in the water.  She heard it was in Malasia - that narrows it down a bit :-) .

Thanks again

Near to Singapore? Try the Endau River in Pahang/Johore. You will need to find a 4WD service to get you to the put-in. The river is a grade 2 or 3 (depending on water level).

Very nice river is the Grade 3 Citarik River near Palabuhan Ratu in West Java. BJ Rafting operates there. About a 3 hour river trip.

Several rivers in Bali have commercial rafting operations. The Ayung River is an easy grade 3.
