I'm wondering if anyone knows of a holiday resort that has chilcare, "kids clubs" or something similar? We plan to take a 2-3 day break sometime soon and are looking for somewhere that can cater for a toddler. Ideally, somewhere that has a "day care" type arrangement so that we can take even just a few hours to ourselves...the Mabelette can be very draining.
Perhaps a resort on the coast of Malaysia ..somewhere we could drive to would be wonderful.
What about the cruises that leave from Singapore - anyone been on one of those?
Anyone have any suggestions, ideas or experiences? Would really appreciate some advice!!!

Cheers
Mabel

Clubmed has a resort in Bintan, Bali, Malaysia and some offer childcare of toddlers, but you have to double check each resort has different childcare ages. I donot know if it is still available, but a few weeks ago I saw that clubmed had a 50% off special for 1 person at the Bintan location.

Once did a Superstar Virgo cruise from Singapore to Thailand - they had a kids' club on board with a lot of things for them to do, and some very kind girls to look after the children.  My kids were aged 7 and 5 at the time, and had a ball.  From memory, they charged by the hour but worth every penny!

Hey thanks guys! That gives me something to start with - I'll look into both ideas!
KatyF, do you think the Superstar Virgo guys would accept a 21mo?

Cheers

I haven't been there myself, but some Aussie friends visiting from Sydney took a short side-trip with their three children (ages 5,3 and 1) and went to the "Sea Gypsy Village" (which advertises on this very website I understand!). They had a very enjoyable time - not a lot to do there but a very relaxing place. They have a special early children's dinner menu (aimed at Western kids I think!). Worth taking a look at their website - and yes you can drive up the coast then take a ferry to get there.

We went on Superstar Virgo when our little one was 3 months old it was great. They are having many different restaurants, including one with self service where you don't have to worry so much about the kids.

I would go again, and they have this 'wet and wild' thing at the back of the ship where they can play on slides an all kind of water games. Suppose they would enjoy that very much.

If you are going, try to eat at their Italian Restaurant in the evening (when the kids are in bed). It has only about 40 seats (early booking), the food is great and the paintings there-real masters (Matisse for instance).....We were told that they belong to the owner.

I heard that "Desaru Impian" is the best choice if we want to take a short holiday with our toddler(s). I heard that there's quite a lot of amusement facilities for children, including a mini zoo (?). I've never been there though, perhaps someone else would like to share his/her experience?

Cheers.

Mabel,

The kids club on the cruise ships only accepts children under four if they have a babysitter with them, so you would have to book a sitter when you leave them in there.  A bit expensive and inconvenient.  Some Club Meds also have age restrictions.
