I'll be playing in the American Club August Golf outing at TMCC on Friday. Anyone have any advice about the play of this course?

We are members there and hope you enjoy.  The garden course is a walking course only so bring your umbrella and water bottles.  Having experienced much of Singapore and surrounding golf, I think you will find it one of the best walking courses.  Very challenging and a fair degree of water.  Apologies for locker rooms which are presently under renovations but they have made arrangements which are fine.
If you are playing Tampines, it is a buggy course with even more water and evelvation changes.  Bring extra balls.  On holes 10/11, watch for the family of monitor lizards which have grown to about 6' in length.  Very lush course and fast greens.

Sounds great - we are playing the Tampines course. So tell me, should I bring a big steak for the monitor lizards, so I can sneak by without being consumed?

Well, time for a report.

Yes, the monitors are there in abundance. I almost ran over one with my motorcycle on the way in!!!

This is a very nice course, and a very challenging design. Lots of hazards placed where most mid-high handicap balls fall. I had a very disappointing 107, but was very uneven all day. Would have a string of pars, then fall off with some 6s and 7s. Overall, I managed to get a 25 (stableford), which is respectable I suppose.

Thanks for the reference on the golf course, hope to run into you somtime! You'll recognize me as the golfer with the grey Nike golf bag slung over his shoulders as he rides his BMW R1200C motorcycle!
