You can try calling the train station (not sure of the number here in Sing. Can try:222-5165 (this used to be their number a few years ago. haven't called them lately, but high chance they have same #!)

Or you can try to call the KL ticketing number:
02 2 274 7442

TIx are pretty cheap. Overnight trains are very comfy in sleeping berths.

FYI: not much difference between First and Second class sleepers...except in price! Might as well take a/c 2nd class sleeper for less $$ and VERY similar quality.

Earlier posting suggested getting singles.

Second class is S$35 single approx. First class is about S$60 single.

Note: Fares from Singapore are in Singapore dollars & from KL in RM.  Thus, Sinpagore to KL is $S68; return (single) journey is same in RM.

Sleepers are S$110/130 out (upper/lower); RM110/130 back

look at  http://www.ktmb.com.my/
for destination type "KL SENTRAL" (sic).
You can even pay for and print your own e-ticket.

NB:: tried a dummy booking, and the price bore no relationship to individual fares quoted above  :-(

Some trains have even chearer air-con economy (AEC) @19.
