Sydney hotel needed

First trip to Australia in mid Dec, wondering if anyone knows of a good discount website? (tried: asia-hotels, asiatravel, planetholiday & accomline).

I will also need a car rental.

For 6 days, what would be your "must see"s (& your "don't bother")?

I can tell you where NOT to stay!!
The Waldorf Serviced Hotel. the pictures on the internet look wonderful, but let me tell you they are NOT! We checked out immediately and stayed at the Inter Continental (unfortunately not budget). We will also be in Sydney, but for New Years Eve!

Hi For car rental try Bayswater car rental they have a website. Very reasonable prices

For hotels go to www.travel.com.au  you should be able to find somewhere here. There are some nice serviced apartments around the city

I've always used this website for Australia: www.oztravel.com.au.  They offer hotels and cars and tours etc. and I can definitely recommend the service.
