A couple in their forties who I happened to meet in Phuket was staying in Chedi Phuket. They said that the place was awesome but too "quiet" to their tasting.

I've stayed at the Chedi.

Great beach & pool but definitely too quiet in the evenings.

A taxi ride into Phuket town isn't too expensive & a tuk tuk ride back to the hotel is an experience!!

It's wonderful. The beach is private, the service is great (now owned by Aman) and the previous poster is correct it's a cheap and easy taxi ride into town or Patong Beach for a little more action. But for serious RandR you can't beat it.
