I had lots of advice of how to work part time here.  I'm on a LTSVP, most people have recommended setting up a sole prop.  I'm looking into this in order to sub-contract myself out to companies on a part time basis as I'm finding it difficult to get an EP for a part time job.

Any ideas how I go about setting this up?  Looked on the MOM website all they have is info EntrePasses - is this what I need to start with??
Everyone I speak to gives me different answers/advice.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

Eleanor

You could get in touch with Contact Singapore.  It is a government organization - website is www.contactsingapore.org.sg  - you can find contact names and numbers on the website.

I went through their London office as we were going round in circles trying to figure which Pass we needed and they were really, really helpful - coordinating with all the other government agencies.  I guess you are in Singapore at the moment so you'll need to look up the local contact there.  Now awaiting EP myself.

Good luck with your venture.

Hi Karen, what info do you have to provide for your Entrepass and EP?
Do you have to provide a business plan as well? Is the Entrepass for a new venture or a business which you would like to transfer to Singapore?
I am under  the impression that a business person can stay in Singapore as long as the business remains viable.
PS :I am in the U.K. too.

Hi

I am also on a LTSVP & established a business. The procedure was quite simple but I used an accountancy practice to take me through the process. Their fee was modest in addition to the $65 registration fee with the Registry of Companies. The tel no. of the company I used is 6256-4281 - ask for Asha. A word of warning though, once the business is established the MOM are not very prompt in processing the LOC application to enable you to actually work for the business.

Hi Eleanor,

Check this website, you can register yourself as an official sole proprietor online. Read the criteria first though.

This is how I done it myself, no problems whatsoever, in fact very efficient and easygoing.

You can download the EP form from any of the government websites and see for yourself what is required.  But it sounds like the above postings have more relevant help for you, since you are already in Singapore.
