Does anyone know what is the average salary for a 3 year diploma teacher in a private school? I understand most salaries in Singapore are negotiated, can anyone give me a benchmark?
Salary, housing allowance,etc...I'm looking to take up a position in a private school.
Cheers

It depends how much experience you have. Should start around 50K per year. If you find a school willing to pay a rental allowance, it may be around $1500-1800 per month. Unless you are a hard to find "specialist" (eg high school science or exotic language)teacher, some schools try not to give the full expat contract, so you may not be given any assistance moving, or any trips home at all. It still beats the money in Aus, though, and I imagine, some other countries, especially considering the lower tax rate. I have 10 years experience, and I am payed $66K. Purely local contract. Just ask the school how much they pay!!Hope this helps.

Cassie, hope you're not teaching English if you're being "payed" $66K.

Try this website for schools all their websites are there. I would suggest they send CV  and hope for the best. A good time for Northern Hem schools and they pay better.

I think if you're already living in Singapore
you'll be offered a salary without housing allowance or flights included. But do you get any kind of allowance like transport, etc?
Just about to sign a contract...
Can you help?
Thanks
