Hello,

My name is Kumar and I am currently working in Singapore now for the past 3
months using a Q1 Pass. Since I am not satisified with my current Job, I am
planning to switch to a new Job. So when I join a new company, I need to
apply for a new EP. Am I right ? If yes, then will there be any problems in
processing my EP for the new company as it has just been 3 months only with
this current company ?  In other words, Will I face any problems when I
switch to a new company within a short time period of just 3 months ?

Please help me in shaping up my career

-Kumar

As soon as you leave your old job, you have to hand in your EP, and get it transferred to a social visit pass.

you can't start new employment until you have a new EP.

So, you must get your new employer to apply before quit.

So the way to go is :
1) With the existing Job/EP, I should first find a new Job/Employer.
2) This new Job/Employer will then process a New EP for me.
3) Once the New EP is confirmed , I should resign my Old Job and Handover the Old EP to my Old Employer.

Is the sequence of steps right ? Please advice...

Regards,
Dinesh

May31 is incorrect. Your new employer can apply for your new EP while you still hold the old one.

From the MOM website..
Employment Pass holders must apply for a new pass whenever they change employers. There is no need to cancel the existing pass before doing so. Each application made will be considered based on the merits of the case.
