I have a friend who is interested in coming to Singapore to train to be a hair stylist.
Anybody know if it is difficult to get a visa to enter the country for such training and if there are any such schools.

There are plenty of schools but the quality of training is dubious at best. The prices they charge are also fairly astronomical. Expect to spend between S$3-5k per year.

Offically you can apply for a student pass to study at these schools. SIR is however usually very stingy with such passes as this is NOT the type of foreign talent they are trying to cultivate. As they are in it for the money, the schools don't tell you this and usually just shrug their shoulders when the student pass gets rejected. You might get better luck if your friend has some kind of family roots in Singapore.
