Hi Patsy
If you look at some of the other threads about the problems many of the expats have finding ( and keeping ) a good maid in Singapore, you should feel quite confident in someone offering you a position. The majority of expats here have maids who do all the cleaning etc, AND look after the kids. There was a recent thread where someone was wondering about bringing in a qualified nanny from abroad, but can't remember who posted it. If you have time have a look for it. The only problem could be your salary expectations; they pay very low salaries for maids here and some may be too mean to fork out for 'quality'. Perhaps you should give details of lowest salary you'd be prepared to work for. I personally don't have kids, but if I did I'd be willing to pay a good salary for the right person, rather than a pittance for a maid who is expected to provide adequate child care for which she's probably not qualified to give. Also, give more details about your situation now, eg, are you still in the States - if so are your new employees expected to pay for you to come over to Singapore? Or, are you adventurous enough to fly over and look for work once you get here? Anyway, I think many people would love to employ you as a nanny, provided the conditions are right. Good luck.
