Hello !

I am keen to explore career options in the Banking and Financial sector industries in and around Singapore.

Would really appreciate if someone gave me the contact names and email ids of the HR Managers of the leading banks e.g. Citibank, ABN Amro,Standard Chartered et.al.

What's in it for you ?
----------------------
I pledge 15 days of my salary to you if this fructifies into a job. And if you have any other ideas I would be willing to explore them

- Ken

I know people who are dying to get into GE Cap - and you are dying to get out.  Why?  What do you know about GE that they don't?  GE's corporate culture is well known...

As someone who has worked with local SIngaporean banks (in capacity of external consultant), be warned that the prevailing corporate culture will be a shock esp coming from GE. Admittedly they are changing, but over-whelmingly still lacking in creativity & initiative. Very command/control environment (to a certain extent this applies to all banking cultures) and a strong degree of apathy resulting from the comfortable oligopoly they have enjoyed for a long time. Best limit your search to the global players.

Hey, it is NOT always greener out there.  To a large extent, timing is everything and I put it to your that it is not a good time to make a move.

Most banks are increasingly volatile and respond more and more with the American style 'hire and fire' mentality depending upon their sort term results.  As someone who has been around a while, I think the industry has had it's heyday and the current flavour of the month is internet related (despite tech wreck...) and bio-tech.  Catch the NEXT wave not the last one.

Thanks for your inputs, everybody.

I have landed in Singapore. Admittedly, its a fantastic place.

I am here for 7 days to meet up with my future employers (bankers).

My brief profile - Electrical Engineer + MBA (Finance) . 4 yrs in Industrial Plants + 5 yrs in Corporate Banking.

Interest - Banks (specially DBS / ABN / Citi and Keppel Tatlee)

My request - Request the Messageboard readers to help me realise a life long dream (of working in Singapore).

Anyone ? Replies at - kingshukg_2000@yahoo.com
